Dr Andrew Gerber - Andrew graduated from Queensland University in 1994 and spent two years with the Royal Australian Air Force before moving into private practice in Queensland. He has a special interest in implant and cosmetic dentistry and has built a reputation on providing exceptional quality restorative and cosmetic dentistry. Andrew's interest extends to neuromuscular dental care, facial growth development orthodontics and airway management incorporating sleep aponea and snoring treatment. He has undertaken extensive studies under Dr Steven Olmos, founder of the TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre and Dr Steve Galella, founder of the Facial Beauty Institute, which has given him the knowledge to assist patients who have acute and chronic pain, airway issues and facial growth development. He has also studied with the renowned Las Vegas Institute. Andrew is a member of the Australian Dental Association. He has also contracted by some of Australia's largest dental supply companies to provide clinical training for other dentists.
Away from work, Andrew is an enthusiastic cyclist who loves competing in both road cycling racing, track racing and triathlons. More recently he has become involved in junior rowing and is part of the coaching team at Toowong Rowing Club where he has coached a crew of junior schoolgirls to medals at National Championships . He is married to Nicole and is well out numbered at home by females, with 3 daughters.
Dr Diana qualified in 2004 with honours from The Royal London Hospital and worked in private practice in London before moving to Australia with her husband. She enjoys all aspects of restorative dentistry and cosmetic dentistry and her calm gentle manner makes even the most nervous patient feel at ease. She is a member of the American Academy of Operative Dentistry and has completed training through the Las Vegas Institute. Dr Diana has also completed training through the Australasian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics and is now able to offer dermal filler and wrinkle reduction to our patients.
Aside from dentistry Dr Diana enjoys painting and outdoor running down by the beach and spending time with her two young children.
Dr Tasnia is a local graduate from Griffith University at the Gold Coast and also a firm believer in the principle that 'prevention is better than a cure'. For this reason, she enjoys focusing on patient communication and education, whilst delivering dental experiences where the patient can smile during and after their treatment. Although passionate about expanding her knowledge in all fields of Dentistry, Tasnia has special interests in Paediatric Dentistry and Minor Oral Surgery. Outside of dentistry, Tasnia loves visiting quirky cafes, catching the latest blockbuster at the movies and spending time with her human and furry loved ones.
Dr Bernard joined us in 2016 after completing an undergraduate degree in Pharmaceutical Science at Griffith University, followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Melbourne. He has been involved in research scholarships and volunteer dental programs in Cambodia. Outside of dentistry, Dr Bernard enjoys tennis, cycling and music.
Where dental hygiene is concerned, Shanti, Lisa, Melissa and Michelle form the Preventive Care department and aim to promote excellent oral health standards by educating and guiding patients to successful oral hygiene according to each individuals needs. The Preventive Care team also try to provide these services to the community by visiting preschools, schools and aged care facilities to share their knowledge and expertise.
Shanti has a specific passion in the prevention and treatment of gum or periodontal disease and achieve excellent results with her treatment and maintenance approaches. Shanti graduated from Curtin University in 2003.
Lisa, Michelle and Melissa are Oral Heath Therapist dual trained in the treatment of children's dental care as well as hygiene. Lisa is a graduate of LaTrobe University in Melbourne in 2013, Michelle graduated from the University of Sydney in 2011 and Melissa completed her degree at University of Queensland in 2009. All our Oral Health Therapists bring their knowledge, experience and great chair side manner to our preventive care team.
Nicole looks after the business, administration and human resource components of our practice. Her background is in general nursing, women's health and health education and she oversees the maintenance of our high standard of patient care.
Julie coordinates the exceptional service you will experience each time you visit us at Gerber Dental Group. She many years of clinical and management experience and is available to assist with any questions you may have. Customer service means ensuring that all aspects of your care are coordinated and organised to suit you. At Gerber Dental Group we will provide you with your own treatment coordinator who will liaise with you during your treatment plan and any follow up care. Julie has the expertise, the knowledge and the commitment to ensure that your dental treatment experience is nothing short of exceptional.
